Trump claims he asked Macron for Gulf support, criticizes delay
During an Easter Lunch Event at the White House, US President Donald Trump addressed his recent call for assistance from French President Emmanuel Macron.
“I called up France, Macron, whose wife treats him extremely badly and he’s still recovering from the right to the jaw. And I said, ‘Emmanuel, we would love to have some help in the Gulf. Even though we are setting records and knocking out bad people and knocking out ballistic missiles, we would love to have some help; if you could, could you please send ships immediately,’” Trump stated.
According to the US president, Macron replied that assistance could only be provided “after the war is won.”
“I told him, ‘No, no, I don’t need it after the war is won,’” Trump added.
