Former Trump aide urges US to restrain Israel
Joe Kent, the former director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, who quit over the war on Iran, is urging Trump to end the war as soon as possible, Al Jazeera writes.
Responding to Trump’s address to the nation, he wrote on X: “We honor our fallen by learning from our past & only shedding American blood in defense of our nation. The best time to get out of a war of choice is now, before we lose more lives.”
He added that the US can declare victory when it chooses, but that was only possible if Trump restrains the Israelis.
“Israel needs us committed indefinitely, we are seeking a quick end to the war. We have drastically different goals than Israel & must act accordingly,” he added.
Kent resigned last month, urging President Trump to “reverse course” on Iran.
