Macron says military action won’t resolve Iran’s nuclear program issue

French President Emmanuel Macron has addressed the latest developments in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz during a visit to South Korea, Al Jazeera writes.

He said the US-Israeli attacks on Iran will not resolve the issue of Iran’s nuclear program, calling for diplomacy instead.

“If there is no framework for diplomatic and technical negotiations, the situation can deteriorate again in a few months or a few years,” said Macron.

The French president also threw cold water on a proposed military operation to open the Strait of Hormuz, saying it was “unrealistic․”
