‘Putin hinted to a certain comrade Vovaevich that membership in the EAEU and the EU is incompatible’, Medvedev said

It is time for Russia to abandon its tolerant approach to its neighbors’ — including Ukraine — aspirations to join the European Union, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said, according to RIA Novosti.

Against the backdrop of internal contradictions within NATO, Medvedev noted that Brussels is seriously considering creating a full-fledged military component within the EU. He said this changes the global picture.

According to him, the EU is no longer just an economic union and could quickly transform into a fully-fledged and extremely hostile military alliance.

He recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin during recent talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“Our president recently did this in a tactful way, hinting to a certain comrade Vovaevich that membership in the EAEU and the EU is incompatible,” Medvedev said․
