The U.S. government needs to mobilize the global community to take action and ensure the safe return of Artsakh Armenians to their homeland, as well as to protect their right to self-determination. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running for the post of the U.S. president, made an X post on this.
He referred to Azerbaijan’s recent offensive against Artsakh, as a result of which the entire population, i.e. 120,000 Armenians were displaced.
“This is a situation where peaceful sanctions could actually work. The U.S. still has leverage in that region and can use that power to mobilize all of the nations in that region to reverse this humanitarian tragedy.
We should also seek the removal of the blockades on Armenia by Turkey and Azerbaijan. Armenia is a landlocked nation, and it needs access to ports and to the surrounding countries,” he said, adding that he will take action to restore Armenia and Artsakh, if elected U.S. president.
