Macron says about 15 countries plan mission in Strait of Hormuz
Around 15 countries are planning to carry out a mission in the Strait of Hormuz, French President Emmanuel Macron has said.
“Fifteen countries are involved and are preparing to carry out a strictly defensive mission in the Strait of Hormuz, under France’s leadership, which will be conducted in coordination with Iran,” Macron stated.
He welcomed Iran’s willingness to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the ceasefire agreement reached between Washington and Tehran.
On April 7, the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, which has also been supported by Israel.
