Artemis II astronauts return to Earth

The Artemis II crew have safely returned home after re-entering Earth’s atmosphere at 25,000mph, splashing down off the coast of California, the BBC writes.

This marked the first human flight toward the Moon since 1972, as well as the first mission to deep space.

The Artemis II mission was launched on April 1, 2026, from the Kennedy Space Center.
