Zakharova: Statements by Armenian officials cause new problems for bilateral relations

Statements by Armenian officials that the Russian peacekeepers failed to protect the Armenian population in Artsakh and allowed the ethnic cleansing activities there are destructive and have no relation to reality. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this. 

“We have repeatedly noted that these statements only cause new problems for bilateral relations and do not facilitate either the improvement of the bilateral agenda or the settlement of regional issues. I am not sure if this benefits someone in Armenia or someone out of Armenia. In this regard, I would like to say that such statements are aimed at distorting facts to evade responsibility,” Zakharova said.
