MP Tigran Abrahamyan: The attacks against the Armenian Apostolic Church are carried out from one center

MP from the NA With Honor Faction Tigran Abrahamyan made a Facebook post, reading: “The various attacks against the Armenian Apostolic Church pursue several ends and are carried out from one center. Although different groups and mechanisms are used in this regard, they all work toward common goals.”

According to Abrahamyan, the first reason for the attacks against the church is that against the backdrop of the actions of the current anti-state authorities, the church has noticeably assumed the role of protecting the state and statehood.

“The Mother See does not consider Artsakh to be in the past, does not consider the chapter of Artsakh closed, and most importantly, does not consider the struggle for Artsakh completed. For centuries, the Armenian Church has been an important system protecting the nation; it has been an immune institution protecting Armenians from various attacks. In the given situation, the Armenian Apostolic Church will certainly not falter; however, this is not the only expectation from it.

The Mother See, with the support and engagement of all of us, should extend its influence in all possible directions to prevent internal and external encroachments against our country to the best of its opportunities,” Abrahamyan wrote.
