Vahram Balayan: The Armenian authorities prevent the preservation of Artsakh state agencies
Preservation of the state agencies of Artsakh is a necessity
today. Chairman of the Artsakh NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations
Vahram Balayan said this to ABC Media.
“It is important for us to preserve state agencies, so that
we can protect the interests of Artsakh Armenians. International organizations
constantly state that the displaced persons should return to their homes. The
state agencies of Artsakh can further facilitate this process,” Balayan said.
Since the depopulation of Artsakh, the current authorities
of Armenia have at different levels, — recently President Vahagn Khachaturyan
as well — have been stating that no state agency of Artsakh will operate in
Armenia as their operation poses threats to national security. As Balayan
noted, these worries of the RA officials are not appropriate.
“If they think they will provoke the anger of Turkey and
Azerbaijan by allowing Artsakh state agencies to operate in Armenia, they are
mistaken. We can all see how Azerbaijan is going ahead with its plans, not
paying attention to its promises and agreements with Armenia. Artsakh state
agencies must operate in Armenia,” he said.
