Lavrentiev: The U.S. has demanded that the Syrian opposition do maximum damage to Russia

The U.S. demands that the Syrian armed opposition do maximum damage to the Russian military contingent, Russian envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev said this in an interview to RIA Novosti.

He noted that this applies not only to the south, where the Russian contingent is positioned, but also to the Idlib demilitarization zone.

Lavrentev added that the U.S. has already started supplying the opposition with modern weapons and drones for attacks to be carried out, including on the Khmeimim Russian Air Base. Moscow is trying to respond to these provocations.
