Israel and Hamas agree to 4-day ceasefire in Gaza
Israel and Hamas have agreed to a four-day ceasefire in the
Gaza Strip. In exchange for the ceasefire, 50–80 hostages will be released.
This is about women and children who are Israeli citizens.
“Tonight we made a difficult decision; but this is a right
decision,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, adding that they
will make sure that there remains no entity in Gaza posing a threat to
Israel.
Hamas, in turn, noted that regardless of the “humanitarian
ceasefire”, they will have their finger on the trigger to protect the
population.
