Jordanian prime minister calls Israel’s actions in Gaza “unprecedentedly cruel” invasion

Prime Minister of Jordan Bisher Khasawneh said in an interview to Asahi shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper, that Israel’s actions in Gaza are not a military operation, but an open invasion, and that the level of cruelty is unprecedented.

“This is not a military operation, but a clear invasion. This cruelty has no precedent in modern history. It is necessary to establish a complete ceasefire,” Khasawneh said.

He also noted that “every pressure should be exerted on Israel to reach a ceasefire”, and a certain “way to promote peace” should be built on these foundations.
