On the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone
conversation between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took place․
“The conversation mainly focused on the current situation
regarding the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The sides expressed concern about
the ongoing armed confrontation in the Gaza Strip. They highlighted the
necessity of establishing a ceasefire as soon as possible and providing
immediate assistance to the injured civilian population,” reads the report
issued after the conversation.
The foreign ministers also touched on a number of other
issues of mutual interest. Reference was also made to the schedules of upcoming
contacts.
