7 people arrested in Istanbul on suspicion of working for Mossad

Turkish police and intelligence officers have arrested seven people in Istanbul on suspicion of collaborating with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, TRT TV channel reports.

A search was carried out in Istanbul as part of the joint operation of the police and the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey. It is said that the people, placed under arrest, sold information to Mossad.

Among them is private detective Hamza Turhan Ayberk, a former civil servant who was regularly invited to the morning programs of local TV channels. The investigation has revealed that he provided information to the Israeli intelligence service for money, including information about the activities of individuals from the Middle East and companies in Turkey. With the help of special surveillance devices, he monitored some of them and transferred information. It is noted that Ayberk was trained for this job in Belgrade in 2019.

Early this year, as a result of Turkish counterintelligence, 34 people were arrested in Turkey on suspicion of working for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. The Turkish newspaper Hürriyet writes that Israel has declared a spy war against Turkey, but it has to understand that this will have certain consequences.
