Over 99% ballot papers counted Putin elected president with 87.34%
With 99.01% of the ballot papers counted in the Russian presidential election, the incumbent president of the country, Vladimir Putin, has won with 87.34% of the votes, the Central Election Commission of Russia reports.
Nikolay Kharitonov has polled 4.31% of the vote, Vladislav Davankov 3.79%, and Leonid Slutsky 3.19%.
As of 8:37 p.m. on March 17, there had been a voter turnout of 74.22%.
According to early figures, in this election, Putin polled 88%–95% of the vote in the regions that have recently become part of Russia.
The incumbent president of Russia won 87.4% of the votes at the online polls, the votes of Moscow and Kaliningrad not counted.
