The U.S. unilateral approach may cost that country its role
as a mediator. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated this,
referring to the statement made by the Assistant Secretary of State for
European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien.
“In the circumstances, it should be noted that the meeting
proposed for Nov. 20, 2023, in Washington, at the level of the Azerbaijani and
Armenian foreign ministers seems impossible for us,” the Azerbaijani side
stated.
