The European Union will be able to transfer 1 billion euros from the profit of Russian assets to Ukraine by July 1, if it manages to quickly complete the development of the relevant mechanism. As Armenpress reports, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said this at a press conference following the first day of the EU summit in Brussels.
“We can send the first billion by July 1, if we manage to quickly complete the development of the mechanism,” he said.
According to the president of the European Commission, at the meeting, “the EU leaders approved proposals brought forward by the European Commission” to use profits from Russian assets to provide military aid to Ukraine through the European Peace Facility and the EU budget.
