Seyran Ohanyan: So far, the current RA authorities have not received the president of Artsakh
The Artsakh conflict has not been settled yet. Today, MP
Seyran Ohanyan from the NA Armenia Alliance said this to the press. As he
noted, three points should be made in this regard.
“First, the chapter of Artsakh is not closed. Moreover, as a
result of Azerbaijan’s aggressive actions, acts of ethnic cleansing, genocide
and the depopulation of Artsakh took place during the recent hostilities in
September. The Azerbaijani leadership must be held responsible and sanctions
must be imposed on them,” Ohanyan said.
The second point that Ohanyan mentioned refers to the issue
of preserving Artsakh as a political entity.
“In view of the fact that the conflict has not been
resolved, strong measures must be taken to preserve Artsakh as a political
entity. These measures should be aimed at preserving the state agencies of
Artsakh and adopting appropriate policies, so that the people of Artsakh will
not leave Armenia. The Armenian and Artsakh authorities should be the prime
actors in this regard,” Ohanyan said.
He highlighted the importance of continuing negotiations on
the Artsakh issue, noting that Artsakh still exists as a political
entity.
“However, we can see that the Armenian authorities refuse to
preserve the state agencies of Artsakh and are busy with only social and
humanitarian issues,” Ohanyan noted.
As the leader of the alliance noted, a special strategy
should be worked out on the Artsakh issue.
