Polish farmers again close border with Ukraine for trucks
Polish farmers have again prevented the movement of trucks through the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.
Yesterday, Andriy Demchenko, the representative of the border guard service of Ukraine, warned of the possibility that the Polish farmers might resume the transport blockade along the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv crossing on Tuesday.
The Polish farmers went on massive protests on Feb. 9, 2024. They have been staging protests across the country, blocking roads and border crossings with Ukraine. At the border crossings, unknown persons have already dumped grain from Ukrainian trucks and railway wagons several times. The protesters’ major demands are to stop the import of agricultural products from Ukraine to Poland and to abandon the environmental programs of the EU, i.e., the so-called European Green Deal, which envisages zero emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
