Taiwan earthquake death toll rises to 12
The death toll from the earthquake in Taiwan has reached 12. Fifty aftershocks followed overnight; they were felt in capital Taipei, Reuters reports.
According to the emergency response center of Taiwan, 1106 people have been injured.
Hundreds are waiting for help in hard-to-reach areas. About 400 people are trapped in a hotel in Taroko National Park, from where the injured are being taken out by helicopters.
Eighteen people are still unaccounted for.
