France concerned about incidents in Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem
The Consulate General of France in Jerusalem expressed concern regarding the incidents that took place in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City.
“France is concerned about the incidents that happened in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. We call on the Israeli authorities to refrain from any unilateral actions that call into question the status quo of Jerusalem,” the consulate said in an X post.
On April 3, the Israeli police stormed the Cows’ Garden (Goveroun Bardez), belonging to the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and, without a court order or warning, removed the barricades, destroyed the patriarchate’s property, and attacked the clergy and local Armenians.
