Two militants, planning an act of sabotage and a terrorist attack, were neutralized in Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia, RIA Novosti writes, referring to the National Antiterrorism Committee of Russia.
“After clarifying the location of the armed persons involved in terrorist activities in the suburbs of Nalchik, two criminals were neutralized as a result of an anti-terrorist operation,” the committee said.
The special forces neutralized the militants who opened fire on the security forces after the latter offered them to surrender.
“According to the information that is available, the members of the bandit group that was part of an international terrorist organization, destroyed during the shootout, were planning to carry out a number of sabotage and terrorist activities in the territory of the republic,” the committee added.
