Japan seeking to take lead in handling humanitarian crisis in Gaza
Japan wants to “take a lead” in the efforts to ease the
humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa
said this.
In an interview with Kyodo News, the official said that
Japan will actively work with other countries towards the realization of a
“two-state solution”, which suggests the creation of an independent Palestinian
state alongside Israel.
“We will try to improve the humanitarian situation and
facilitate de-escalation in the short term, and realize the two-state solution
in the long term,” the Japanese foreign minister noted.
