Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly made an X post, welcoming the addition of her country’s first expert to the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA).
“Returning from my trip (to Armenia) last year, a key priority was to explore ways to ensure stability and security in the South Caucasus, including the respect of the territorial integrity of Armenia. We welcome the news of Alexander Grushevskiy as our first Canadian expert to the EUMA,” Joly said.
Earlier, the Political and Security Committee of the Council of Europe approved Canada’s proposal to support the EU Mission in Armenia.
“Thrilled to welcome the first Canadian Expert Alexander Grushevskiy to EUMA. Canada is the first Third Contributing State supporting the Mission,” the EU Mission in Armenia said in an X post. Canada is the first non-EU state to join the observation mission.
