Draft law on “Foreign Agents” leads to clashes in Georgia

A brawl started in the Parliament of Georgia, while demonstrations accompanied by clashes are taking place in the streets. The reason for this is a draft law on “Transparency of Foreign Influence”, brought before Parliament by the ruling Georgian Dream party.

The draft law suggests registering non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities and media outlets as “organizations furthering the interests of a foreign power” if they receive 20% or more of their revenues from abroad. The draft law was passed yesterday after it got its first reading. Details in the video:
