Zatulin: Russia, unlike NATO, has no claims against its allies, and Armenia is taking advantage of it
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma for the CIS and Relations with Russian Nationals Abroad Konstantin Zatulin told Gazeta.Ru that Russia, unlike NATO, has no claims against its allies, and some of them, particularly Armenia, are taking advantage of it.
According to him, Yerevan is questioning its membership in the CSTO amid the Armenian authorities’ desire to change the public mood in favor of the West.
Olga Kovitidi, a member of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation, is sure that the CSTO is an important factor for regional and international security.
According to her, the CSTO has managed to gradually strengthen its positions, including in the foreign arena.
Vladimir Yevseyev, a military expert and the head of the Eurasian Integration and Development Department of the SCO Institute of the CIS Countries, thinks that Yerevan is creating a difficult situation for the CSTO, including with its pro-Western foreign policy and rapprochement with NATO.
