The representatives of Group of Seven (G7) members have
issued a statement following the two-day meeting in Tokyo. They have also
touched on the Artsakh issue.
“We are deeply concerned about the humanitarian consequences
following the displacement of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh after
Azerbaijan’s military operations there. We call on Azerbaijan to completely
fulfill its obligations arising from international humanitarian law, and
welcome the international efforts aimed at meeting the pressing humanitarian
needs of the displaced persons. We highlight our support for the establishment
of lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the non-use of force,
respect for sovereignty, inviolability of borders and territorial integrity,”
reads the statement.
