Congressman Adam Schiff has invited the Catholicos of the
Great House of Cilicia to deliver the U.S. House of Representatives’ opening
prayer.
“His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of
Cilicia, will serve as the Guest Chaplain in the United States House of
Representatives – offering the opening prayer before this Thursday’s session,”
ANCA reports, noting that in September 2022, in the World Council of Churches
assembly, His Holiness Aram I was elected President of the World Council of
Churches, representing the Oriental Orthodox churches.
ANCA noted that the Morning Prayer will be televised live
and will be included in the Congressional Record.
