Jalal Harutyunyan acquitted in one episode; Criminal prosecution not terminated in another episode
The criminal prosecution for counterattack brought against
Former Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army J. Harutyunyan on Oct. 7, 2020 has
been terminated. Harutyunyan has been exculpated. Advocate Arsen Sardaryan said
this.
“With about 306-page expert opinion, 11 professional
military experts unanimously confirmed that there was no corpus delicti in
Jalal Harutyunyan’s actions with regard to counterattack. Harutyunyan was alert
and competent in his actions of counterattack.
Although it becomes clear from the above-mentioned expert
opinion that J. Harutyunyan cannot be accused of the losses caused by the enemy
attack on the D-20 division of the Tsor military unit on Oct. 12, 2020, and
that the responsibility entirely falls on the command of the D-20 division, the
criminal prosecution in this regard has not been terminated, which is, in fact,
rather worrying,” Sardaryan said.
