Why has Aragats Akhoyan been taken into custody? Investigative Committee explains

News came in today that Former NA MP Aragats Akhoyan has
been taken into custody. 

The RA Investigative Committee noted that on June 8, 2023,
Aragats Akhoyan made a Facebook post, calling for violence against a group of
people on account of their political views. 

“Akhoyan’s Facebook post reads: ‘Make a list of the bast…
that we are going to do away with after we topple nikol.’ In fact, the post
received many reactions from Facebook users. 

Thus, on Nov. 3, 2023, a motion was put forward to bring a
criminal prosecution against A. A. under Article 330, Part 2, Clause 3 of the
RA Criminal Code. The motion was approved. 

A decision has been made to arrest A. A. with the aim of
taking him to court. He was arrested on Nov. 6, and a charge was brought
against him,” the Investigative Committee reported.
