Why Mihrdat Madatyan resigns parliamentary seat? Levon Kocharyan to take up the seat or not?

The other day, MP Armen Charchyan from the opposing NA
Armenia Alliance, resigned his parliamentary seat. On Oct. 23, Mihrdat Madatyan
told ABC Media that he would take up the seat. However, today, Levon
Kocharyan’s name was circulating in the press. Earlier, ARF member Gerasim
Vardanyan announced his decision not to take up the parliamentary seat. 

However, what was the matter if Madatyan had confirmed
replacing Charchyan? ABC Media contacted Madatyan once again. This time, he
said that as the law stands, his profession is not compatible with
parliamentary activity. Thus, he has decided to practice his profession,
resigning his seat.

According to this logic, next on the list is Levon
Kocharyan. MP Agnesa Khamoyan from the Armenia Alliance told us that for
reasons best known to everyone, they do not have such information as Levon
Kocharyan is in prison.

“Most probably, Levon Kocharyan himself will make a
statement on this in the coming days and will let us know if he is taking up
the seat or not,” Agnesa Khamoyan said.
