Moscow considers Yerevan’s participation in the talks on
Ukraine held in Malta as a demonstrative anti-Russian gesture. Russian Foreign
Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this.
“Yerevan should realize that what we are talking about is
demonstrative cooperation with those in serious conflict with Russia. Sad to
say, the current leadership of the country is wantonly destroying our allied
relations, which they used to consider a key factor in the stability and
prosperity of Armenia in the recent past,” Zakharova said.
To remind, the talks on Ukraine, to which Russia was not
invited, were held on June 24 in Copenhagen (Denmark) and on Aug. 5-6 in Jeddah
(Saudi Arabia). The latest meeting at the level of national security advisers
on the ways of settling the conflict in Ukraine was held on Oct. 28-29 in Malta.
