The Diocese of Kotayk issued a statement condemning the police for not allowing the Catholicos of All Armenians and other clergymen to enter Sardarapat Memorial yesterday.
“We regret and condemn what happened on May 28 in Sardarapat Memorial, when the police tried to obstruct and not allow Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and the clergy to enter the memorial complex.
We consider any such attitude toward His Holiness and the clergy unacceptable, and we pray that the Lord will give our police officers common sense and sensibility,” reads the statement.
