Channel One Russia broadcast suspended in Armenia
Channel One Russia will no longer broadcast in the territory of Armenia. Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan told Armenpress.
– News came in on social media about the suspension of Channel One Russia’s broadcast in the Republic of Armenia. Can you please clarify if the information is true, and if yes, on what basis the TV channel’s broadcast has been stopped?
– Under the current contract between the Television and Radio Broadcasting Network of Armenia CJSC and Channel One, World Network Open Joint-Stock Company, Channel One, World Network Open Joint-Stock Company failed to fulfill its contractual obligations, running up 2.5 months of debt.
The broadcasting of Channel One Russia [ORT] in the public multiplex has been temporarily suspended until the debt is fully met.
