1st female candidate registers for Iran’s presidential election

The first female candidate, Zohreh Elahian, has registered as a candidate for the snap presidential election to be held in Iran, Mehr news agency reports.

After registering, Elahian told the press, “The motto of my government is ‘healthy government, healthy economy and healthy society.’”

At the moment, the number of candidates registered for the election stands at 12.
