Artur Chilingarov, a Russian State Duma member of Armenian origin and a polar explorer, passed away at the age of 84, TASS reports, referring to Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the State Duma.
“A great person, our colleague, Artur Chilingarov, has passed away,” Volodin said.
The cause of Chilingarov’s death has not been reported yet.
