Today was the last day of registration of candidates for Iran’s upcoming presidential election. In total, 81 candidates have registered for the election, the Iranian media reports.
The registration of candidates started on May 29 and ended today, June 3, at 6:00 p.m. local time. The Guardian Council will process the qualifications of the candidates for seven days, and their names will be announced on June 11.
The election campaign will start on June 12 and last until June 27. On June 28, the 14th presidential election will be held, where the people of Iran will elect their ninth president.
