EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre officer arrives in Yerevan from Brussels

The Armenian Unified Information Center issued a statement regarding international aid for the elimination of the consequences of the floods in Lori and Tavush provinces of Armenia. The statement reads as follows:

“A team of EU experts has been dispatched to Armenia for the purpose of a thorough assessment of post-disaster needs and the restoration of infrastructure.

At the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has been activated in order to receive expert advice and satellite data with regard to the elimination of the consequences of the floods in Lori and Tavush provinces of Armenia.

An EU Emergency Response Coordination Centre officer has arrived from Brussels to Yerevan for the organization of support provision.

Among the first responders to the call for international aid was the Swiss Confederation, which sent a group of experts to Armenia to conduct studies on the condition, integrity, and possibility of restoration of infrastructure.”
