Russia is ready, if necessary, to provide advisory assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan in the process of border delimitation and demarcation, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov said.

“We support the ongoing process of delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We believe that it should be stable, balanced and mutually acceptable,” the diplomat noted.

He also said that the Russian side welcomes the ongoing process of normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku, including the talks between the two countries’ foreign ministers on a peace treaty in Almaty on May 10–11.

“This is another step toward sustainable peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” the ambassador noted.

Regarding the prospects of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Evdokimov stated that it will depend on the political will of Yerevan and Baku.

“I hope it will happen soon,” he concluded.
