Georgian deputy PM: Imposing sanctions against the Georgian authorities is the mistake of the US
Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller said at a press briefing that the U.S. is going to impose visa restrictions on dozens of Georgian nationals, including members of the Government, Parliament and their relatives. Washington is ready to take additional measures in relation to the law on foreign agents adopted in the country. The U.S. remains deeply concerned about the anti-democratic actions of the Georgian Dream party, as well as its recent statements and rhetoric. “These actions risk derailing Georgia’s European future and run counter to the Georgian constitution and the wishes of its people,” Miller noted.
Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Thea Tsulukiani said that imposing sanctions against the Georgian authorities is the mistake of the United States. According to her, the Government of Georgia is a problem for the U.S. Georgia has always been committed to strategic partnership with the U.S., the deputy prime minister stated.
