The minimum age for marriage has become 18 in Armenia, without any exceptions. The National Assembly adopted a draft legislation produced by MP Rustam Bakoyan at its second and final reading.
Before this amendment, the law also allowed marriage at the ages of 16 and 17 in some cases.
