Makhachkala airport closes after riots following Tel Aviv flight
Two police officers have been injured in the riots in an
airport in Makhachkala. As RIA Novosti reports, Head of the Republic of
Dagestan Sergey Melikov said this.
“They incurred injuries while blocking the airport’s
security zones,” he said.
To remind, on Oct. 29, upon the arrival of the flight from
Tel Aviv, residents of Makhachkala stormed the airport runway, demanding that
people coming from Israel be refused entry into the country.
According to the Ministry of Health of Dagestan, over 20
people were injured in the riots. Ten people were hospitalized. The airport was
closed after the incident.
