Canada has listed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, TASS writes.
“Our government has decided to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization under the Criminal Code of Canada,” Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc told the press.
The minister added that with such actions, Ottawa “sends out a clear signal that Canada will use all the tools at its disposal to fight terrorist organization IRGC”.
In response to LeBlanc, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, called this move of Canada “hostile”. He noted that along with other parts of the armed forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is responsible for ensuring the country’s national security and protecting the borders, as well as contributing to the security and stability of the region.
