Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly is in Armenia on an
official visit. She has visited the office of the EU observation mission in
Jermuk, Armenpress reports.
“It is a great pleasure to be in Jermuk to learn more about
the work that the EU mission has been carrying out and to what Canada is
joining. Canada is the first non-EU member state to join this mission. Thus, we
are going to discuss logistics issues as to how we can integrate into this
mission that plays an essential role in addressing regional humanitarian
issues, as well as in establishing peace and stability in the region,” Joly
said at her meeting with the EU monitors.
Within the framework of her visit to Jermuk, the Canadian
foreign minister will also visit military positions there. She will also meet
with the displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
