Russian Foreign Ministry: The issue of changing the Armenian ambassador in Russia is within the competence of Armenia
The issue of changing the Armenian ambassador in Russia is under the jurisdiction of Armenia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told the press.
“It is within the competence of the sending state to decide on the candidacy of the ambassador in a specific country. In this case, we are talking about the intention of the Armenian leadership to replace their ambassador to Russia,” Galuzin noted.
He said Russia is satisfied with the work of the current ambassador of Armenia to Russia, noting that he has made a significant contribution to bilateral relations.
To remind, Armenian National Assembly President Alen Simonyan announced the possibility of replacing the Russian ambassador in the near future, noting that they are discussing the candidacy of a new ambassador. A few days ago, Ambassador to Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan visited Belgorod Oblast, where he noted that Armenian-Russian relations are not limited to the statements of individuals.
