Coup attempt thwarted in Kyrgyzstan
The intelligence services of Kyrgyzstan prevented a coup attempt, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
“As part of the measures aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and protecting the foundations of the constitutional system, the illegal activities of a destructive group were suspended,” the press service said.
The department noted that the group consisted of religious fanatics.
Four Kyrgyz citizens were arrested and taken to a place of temporary detention.
