Russian court fines Telegram 3 million rubles

Moscow’s Tagansky court fined Telegram Messenger 3 million rubles for refusing to remove information about anti-government activities, TASS reports.

“The court decided to find Telegram Messenger Inc guilty of the failure to delete information by the owner of an information resource on the Internet under Article 13.41, Part 2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, if the obligation to delete such information is provided for by law and to punish him in the amount of 3 million rubles with a fine,” reads the court decision.

The company faced a maximum fine of 4 million rubles.
