Within 5 years, they have at last managed to buy three radar
stations from France and to reach an agreement on rocket trade. MP Artur
Khachatryan from the opposing NA Armenia Alliance said this to the press in the
National Assembly.
He noted that if Russia failed to supply us with the
promised armaments, we should have found other suppliers.
“If you did not have the ability to ensure the defense
capability of your country, you should have remained in your previous job as a
newspaper editor,” Khachatryan said, expressing hope that at least these radar
stations will properly work, unlike the Su-30s.
Referring to the potential peace treaty, the MP noted that
Azerbaijan is sending a clear message that it will not keep peace if that peace
treaty does not imply a statement on Armenia’s capitulation.
According to him, what is most dangerous is that Armenia may
become a theater of war between the West, North and South.
“Unfortunately, the foreign policy that these authorities
have been pursuing has caused a situation where Armenia is turning into a
theater of war. We have no reasonable grounds to claim that those, negotiating
on behalf of Armenia, are defending the interests of Armenia,” Artur
Khachatryan noted.
