UN raises $100 million to help Palestinians
The U.N. has managed to raise about $100 million to address
the needs of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the U.N. Office
for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports.
“So far, Member States have pledged nearly US$100 million,
which would cover about 34 per cent of the total requirement ($294 million),”
reads the statement.
To remind, the situation in Gaza has escalated in the past
weeks when in answer to Hamas’s full-scale military operation in Israel, Israel
started attacking Palestinians.
